SESSION 'HEADLINES':
  • * WNC, especially Asheville, already has a robust community media infrastructure
  • * Organizations need to leverage these outlets to get their message out
  • Media is a key element of transforming WNC into the "Sustainability Capital"
  • Information overloaded audiences need good curators!
  • * Environmental issues involve *everyone*
  • Identify and build the audience!
*NECESSARY/DESIRED ACTION: (Declarative Statements)
  • * Help organizations develop effective media strategies for community and mass media
  • * Identify documentaries and resources that can be sponsored for airing locally dealing with core issues
  • * Stick to core messages, but frame issues to be attractive to media outlets
  • * Diversify! Reach the broadest number of communities.
