Session Title: City vs/& County Development; Sustainable Building Problems & Information

SESSION 'HEADLINES':
- There is a lack of good, in-depth information in the community about the impact of developments
- Citizens should demand due diligence from County government before developments are approved
- Water availability is going to be (and already is) an important issue in the future and should be strongly considered in the development process
- Need consequences or stronger consequences for developers who do not follow through on the approved plan. (City and County)
- Community needs alternative candidates to run for County Commissioner
- Center for Climate and Environmental Interaction is proposing that Asheville become an urban climate change laboratory and have an environmental extension program.
*NECESSARY/DESIRED ACTION: (Declarative Statements)
- Communication of good information to citizens about development impacts - PR campaign
- A sustainability section in the AC-T
- Using information from NOAA/NCDC to inform our region about sustainability, policies, actions
- Examine and implement impact fees to address environmental and infrastructure impacts.
